Resolving Compatibility Issues with Internet Explorer
As of version 8, certain changes made to the Internet Explorer browser have a tendency to cause some strange display issues in web sites that were designed to be compatible with earlier versions of the browser. While the latest version of a browser like Firefox doesn't seem to have any such issues, users of IE8 may often find that a number of page elements - such as menus, images and text - are out of place. In other more extreme cases, the entire content of a page may be invisible. If any IE8 users have tried to edit their lease info on this site they will have noticed just this problem ... when you try to edit the lease info it isn't there to edit!
The good folks at Microsoft were evidently aware of these issues when they released Internet Explorer 8, because they've built a handy little feature into IE8 that is designed to fix these kinds of problems. That feature is called "Compatibility View" and can be found either under Tools > Compatibility View or in the form of a button showing a broken page, located directly to the right of the address bar. Turning on the Compatibility View feature on any page of a web site will turn it on for that entire web site and should automatically engage the next time you come back to the site.
So, if you're using IE8 and this site doesn't seem to look right or work correctly, just turn on Compatibility View and you'll be good to go. If you're using IE7 and you notice display problems, well, you should probably upgrade to IE8. Or, better yet, upgrade to Firefox.
